Job Description The main role of an Electrical Engineer is to ensure that electrical systems are safe to operate and capable of continuous operation, as designed/intended. An electrical engineer also performs electrical designs, and reviews and comments on third party design concepts/proposals, identifies possible short-falls, and produces reports outlining risks, and minimum standards to meet statutory, health, safety, environmental, business, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities Electrical Engineering Performs inspection, field investigations & surveys. Assists in the preparation of cost estimates and analyzing material costs, quality and quantity. Assists in developing project standards and specifications. Provides guidance in relation to applicable regulations, policies, standards, and procedures. Prepares preliminary and proposed designs from field notes and data files. Engages and reviews the works of 3rd party engineering firms for the creation of construction packages Reads and interprets engineering sketches, maps, survey field notes, aerial photographs and drawings. Performs engineering plans preparation and review Participates in in-depth study projects, working independently on technical engineering assignments and providing support to project and field teams. Define customer needs and requirements. Provide on-site Technical Electrical Engineering Support to FM Operations teams as required. Provide on-site Technical Electrical Engineering Support to FM Project teams as required. Provide Sodexo Global Technical Electrical Engineering Support as required. Environmental Responsibilities Monitor Maintenance and Inspection Plans, provides guidance and recommendations on Trends to support operations and Assets at the lowest practical cost. Ensuring that Electrical Installations and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications. Objectives Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies. Working with Operations Technicians to facilitate Electrical Best practice standards by supervising and training FM team members as necessary. Assist with equipment and process troubleshooting to enable FM Operations Teams return assets back to operating state as reasonably as practical, Provide recommendations on repair strategies and improvement opportunities. Responsible for the Power Generation and maintenance across both the Prime and Standby Generator Fleet and responsible to ensure Generators are maintained in accordance with relevant standards. Participate as an active member of the green team by adhering to Environmental Responsibilities and Sodexo Policy and Procedure. Minimize the use and waste of materials and resources including water, electricity, fuel and consumables. Prevent the release of pollutants to the atmosphere and ground– smoke, storm water, chemicals and other pollutants. Dispose of waste products as per recycling procedures. Report and environmental concerns/innovations to the EMS Coordinator immediately 100% attendance record or satisfactory reporting of inability to attend. 100% adherence to company grooming and personal hygiene standards. Attendance at Sodexo Induction training and any further training as required either by Sodexo or the client. Timely delivery of tasks in accordance with the needs of the business and the direction of the Line Manager.
